Do you have an innovation that will end global hunger? The World Food Program (WFP) is willing to support you. FOUNDERS (F6S) is taking applications for WFP Global Innovation Challenge #ZeroHunger. WFP Global Innovation Challenge 2019 seeks high-potential solutions to disrupt hunger worldwide.
Applications shall be assessed on the basis of a standard set of parameters and shall be reviewed by both the WFP as well as external experts.
How the WFP Global Innovation Challenge work:
Innovation Bootcamp: Selected teams will deep-dive field-level problems, devising ideas and developing project plans. The bootcamp is slated to take place in Munich, Germany.
Pitch Night: The week-long bootcamp winds up with a Pitch Night. The Pitch Night is an opportunity for teams to share their ideas and solutions with a group of stakeholders and market leaders who can help take these ideas up to scale.
Sprint Program: The best teams are chosen to participate in a 3- to 6-month Sprint Program where they earn up to $100,000 in funding, field access, and hands-on training to assess the efficacy and scalability of the solution for WFP.
The Accelerator helps teams connect to a global mentor network, including private sector and non-profit experts, sponsors, and WFP Country Offices, to support implementation.
- At the time of application, your start-up must be incorporated. It can be either for profit or not for profit.
- Your innovation must at least be at the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage.
- Proof of concept and initial traction are preferred.
- Your solutions should be financially viable.
- Your proposal needs to show how your long-term strategy will be served by working with WFP (For WFP employees).
- Your team must show evidence of Country Office support and buy-in management for the WFP employee.
You are encouraged to apply irrespective of the type or function of your contract. We accept WFP employee project applications that work with NGOs, government or private sectors.
Funding: Receive up to $100,000 in equity-free funding.
Access to WFP Operations: Successful teams will have the opportunity to work with WFP.
Hands-On Support: Get a chance to work with professional and industry mentors.
Networking: Teams will be able to tap into and manage our strong network of public, private and government partners to facilitate implementation.
